Immune system boost

Due to allergies and stress I’ve always looked for an immune system boost.  When I was only 45, I had pneumonia.  I had gotten a cold. I took care of myself.  I’m all into health food and supplements. And I did all the normal things, like stayed home, had chicken soup, slept a lot!  However, it descended into bronchitis which matured into pleurisy and eventually developed into pneumonia.

Picture a hospital room with an oxygen tent. Remember I was 45, so that was 30 years ago. No oxygen in the nose.  This was the tent.  Total lassitude.  Feeling completely spent. Sleeping almost all the time.  I was there for two weeks.  About the third day, I was introduced to a lung specialist named Dr. Demon.  (The name scared the heck out of me, but her turned out to be a really nice guy.)  He worked with me and determined I had out of control asthma and I wound up starting taking prescriptions which have evolved and changed over the years, but, still a lifetime of drugs to keep me healthy.

Thirty Years Later

This Immune System Boost drink kept me out of the hospital

Immune system boost

I’ve been trying some different products from my weight loss coffee company.  One of them was the Immune System Boost.  It’s no problem to add into my life.  It is a powder in an individual packet, so it is really easy to add to my water.  And, it tastes fruity, so I could drink it during the day to keep myself hydrated.

And, I felt like I was being proactive to keep myself safer from the flu, since I’m 74 and still go to grocery stores and Walmart and am around a lot of people.  I don’t do the flu shot.  I’m one of those people who get sick when I take a flu shot, so I don’t, even though my doctor wanted me to. So, I have to be as proactive as I can.  With COPD, I could die with a lung ailment.

In August, I had worked 6 to 7 days a week.

I worked really hard on a contest from one of the companies I represent.  I was working about 10 to 12 hours a day.  It’s fun work.  I love what I do, so the fact that I was working so hard, didn’t really hit me in the face.  But, I was working really hard.

Then I won the contest and I got to go to New Orleans for three days and have a wonderful time with my friends from this particular business.  And I did.  I was wined and dined and ate in wonderful restaurants and stayed up late.  I didn’t even feel tired.  Which is sort of surprising, since I have had COPD for the last four years along with the asthma, and actually don’t have a lot of stamina.

Even coming home from New Orleans, I left early in the morning and got immune systemhome after about seven hours, went home and caught up on what I had missed in my business. This picture was at a wine party.

Then, the next week I had four kids and friend over for a visit for 5 days.  I was tired from the trip, but I thought that was normal.  However, on Friday, a week after I got back, I had this funny kind of a cough.  What came up made me aware that  I was probably really sick.  I went to the doctor the next morning and found out I had pneumonia!  Well, I got the shot (lean over) and went home with five days of pills.

My Point

What was really unusual about this, and the point of this story, is that I continued working and enjoyed my friends for another three days.  I didn’t ever take to my bed.  I was never totally overwhelmed with the illness.  My life continued just like I was healthy.

The only thing I had done differently than my normal habits was to drink that Immune System Boost drink.  I now drink it about twice a week.  I got over the pneumonia so easily, it was incredible.  Never feeling really tired,  I continued my life and just got over it.

I’m really impressed at how a simple little drink kept me from another bout with the whole hospital thing.  I mean I’m 74 and four years into COPD.  My immune system is really bad.  Yet, pneumonia and I continued to enjoy my life as though nothing was different.  I didn’t even cough again.  It just went away.

I recommend this a lot!

I’m smart enough to know a good thing when I see it.  I highly recommend this Immune System Boost Drink.  I read the blurb.  It is packed with antioxidants from things like Aloe Vega, grape skins, pomegranate, Mango steen, Noni fruit and Goji berry powders, along with other vitamins. It even has 16% dietary fiber.  And, it is only 30 calories.  What’s not to like?

I have several immune system challenges. COPD is not the only one. Yet, I fought off pneumonia with little or no problem.  This stuff, I feel, made the difference.
